The sandalwood oil from New Caledonia is one of the most beautiful scents in the world. The small island in the Pacific Ocean is considered the "gateway to Southeast Asia". The cultivation there is characterized by respectful treatment of nature and does not harm the island's biodiversity. The precious sandalwood oil is extracted from the finely grated wood chips of the heartwood by steam distillation.

Die cremige Eleganz von Sandelholz inspirierte Parfümeure über Generationen. „Sandalwood“ von Floris (1870) stellte edles Holz in den Vordergrund, prägend für raffinierte Herrenparfüms. Später nutzte Ernest Beaux Sandelholz als Basis für Chanel No. 5, um florale und aldehydische Noten zu verbinden.
