Accessibility Statement
This digital accessibility statement applies to the website published at https://4711.com/ by MÄURER & WIRTZ GmbH & Co. KG.
We are committed to making our website accessible in accordance with the provisions of the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG) implementing Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act).
Status of Compliance with the Requirements
This website is partially compliant with the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG) due to the following incompatibilities and exemptions.
The following content is currently not fully accessible:
-
Alternative Texts: Some graphical controls, graphics, and images are missing alternative texts or have insufficient ones. Purely decorative graphics are sometimes not provided with an empty alt attribute. In some cases, text is presented in image form without an equivalent text alternative (WCAG 1.1.1, 1.4.5).
-
Time-Based Media (Recorded Videos): No adequate media alternatives are provided for visual content conveying information (WCAG 1.2.2, 1.2.5).
-
Structural Markup: Headings, lists, quotations, and paragraphs are sometimes not correctly structured using appropriate HTML elements. List elements are occasionally misused for other structural purposes (WCAG 1.3.1).
-
Colors and Contrast: Information (e.g., links in continuous text, states of interactive elements) is sometimes conveyed only through color. Texts and controls sometimes lack sufficient contrast (WCAG 1.4.1, 1.4.3, 1.4.11).
-
Screen Orientation: Content does not fully adapt to changed screen orientation, leading to potential loss of information or functionality (WCAG 1.3.4).
-
Sizes and Spacing: Text enlargement to 200% or adjustment of line and paragraph spacing may lead to loss of content or functionality. At high magnification or on small screens, usability may be limited (WCAG 1.4.4, 1.4.10, 1.4.12).
-
Compatibility: HTML markup contains errors (e.g., non-unique IDs). Semantic information for interactive elements is partially missing (e.g., missing name, role, or state). Dynamic content such as success or error messages is not reliably recognized by assistive technologies (WCAG 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.1.3).
-
Navigation and Page Structure: When the presentation is changed (e.g., using a screen reader), content is not always accessible in a meaningful and understandable order. Mechanisms for skipping recurring content blocks (e.g., main navigation) are not fully usable. Some link texts do not clearly indicate the target or purpose of the link. Headings, labels (e.g., on buttons), and form field labels are not always unambiguous (WCAG 1.3.2, 2.4.1, 2.4.4, 2.4.6).
-
Keyboard Navigation: Some features or elements are not fully accessible via keyboard. Keyboard shortcuts cannot be disabled. The focus order is not always logical and understandable. The visual keyboard focus is currently not sufficiently clear (WCAG 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.4, 2.4.3, 2.4.7).
-
Input Assistance and Controls: Some functionalities relying on path-based pointer gestures (e.g., swipe gestures) do not offer simple pointer alternatives. Visible labels do not always match the accessible name. Certain instructions rely solely on color, shape, or position, and are therefore not accessible to all users (WCAG 2.5.1, 2.5.3, 1.3.3).
-
Language: Foreign words and passages are not adequately marked as such (WCAG 3.1.2).
-
Time Limits and Moving Content: Moving content cannot be paused or hidden; movement is not limited to five seconds (WCAG 2.2.2).
We are continuously working on improving the accessibility of the above-mentioned content and implementing the requirements of the BFSG.
